UFC 69 looked bad on paper but the event surprised MMA fans by delivering a mostly action packed event.

Below is a little recap for each fight with ratings.(Fight recap has spoiler button so I can discuss the fights further. Click on “show”).
Luke Cummo vs. John Hayes - 4
A good stand-up fight between the 2 Ultimate Fighter alumnis. A good finish.
[spoiler 'show spoiler‘ ‘hide spoiler‘] Good second round. Listen carefully to Rogan’s comments about urine. Funny stuff. Also, i always find it funny when the referee joins in on the action. [/spoiler]
Pete Spratt vs. Marcus Davis - 3.5
An entertaining fight. It has both stand-up and ground fighting.
[spoiler 'show spoiler‘ ‘hide spoiler‘] Davis is on a role and seems to be the real deal.[/spoiler]
Pete Sell vs. Thales Leites - 4
A fight between 2 bjj guys. Very technical on the ground.
[spoiler 'show spoiler‘ ‘hide spoiler‘]I’m surprised at how Sell, a Matt Serra student, gets dominated by Leites on the ground. Good show of ground techniques by both fighters. Pete Sell’s shows a lot of heart.[/spoiler]
Heath Herring vs. Brad Imes - 4
An enjoyable fight between the two HWs. The pacing is surprisingly fast. Both fighters are working to finish throughout the whole fight.

Kendall Grove vs. Alan Belcher - 4
Ultimate Fighter winner, Kendall Grove, is pitted against the striker in Alan Belcher. A good fight with a lot of action.
[spoiler 'show spoiler‘ ‘hide spoiler‘] Kendall Grove looked impressive in this fight. His stand-up has improved. He uses his reach much more effectively. Overall, an entertaining fight with a good finish. [/spoiler]
Mike Swick vs. Yushin Okami- 3.5
An evenly matched fight between the two MWs. Okami is a very technical counter-fighter. This fight consist of mainly grappling.
[spoiler 'show spoiler‘ ‘hide spoiler‘] Okami is an elusive fighter that uses his size well. He is a big MW fighter. He is a good technical fighter, but he doesn’t usually finish his fights. This fight is watchable but Okami should really try to finish his fights more often. I gotta give credit to Mike Swick on this one for weathering the storm.[/spoiler]
Roger Huerta vs. Leonard Garcia - 4
A surprisingly good fight. It was much more even than expected. A lot of both, stand-up and grappling action.
[spoiler 'show spoiler‘ ‘hide spoiler‘] The UFC is trying to build Huerta by giving him the less experienced fighter in Garcia. But, Garcia came to fight. Yes, Huerta won this fight but Garcia was able to take it to the judges. Huerta did not look too impressive. Nonetheless, this was a good fight that is well worth watching.[/spoiler]
Diego Sanchez vs. Josh Koscheck - 2
A grudge match between the 2 Ultimate Fighter contestants. This fight had a lot of hype behind it, but failed to deliver. Both fighters were too careful about making any mistakes. This is a boring fight. Don’t waste your time with this one.
[spoiler 'show spoiler‘ ‘hide spoiler‘] Koscheck won this fight in a torturous (for the viewers) manner. There’s nothing much to say about this fight because nothing really happened. [/spoiler]
Matt Serra vs. Georges St. Pierre (GSP) - 4.5
A good fight. Short, but entertaining.
[spoiler 'show spoiler‘ ‘hide spoiler‘] This was an upset. The champion, GSP, was supposed to roll through Serra with ease. Instead, GSP got TKO’d. Also, pay attention to Matt Hughes’ reaction after the fight. Something is up with that guy.[/spoiler]

UFC 69 was the first time I saw an MMA DVD presented in 16:9 anamorphic widescreen. I was surprised since most sport DVD’s aren’t in widescreen. I’m glad they chose to go this route because other MMA organizations are also releasing their DVD’s in widescreen. It’s not as clear as UFC 71 or the later UFC DVD’s. Pixels and ghosting(double image) can be seen throughout the whole event. Besides those problems, the colors look natural . An average presentation.
Audio Score 4.5/5
The DVD is presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital. Audio is clear and the cheers from the crowd add to the event.
Special Features Score: 5/5
This 30 minute mini-documentary follows Sanchez, Koscheck, Serra, and GSP before and after their fights (mainly before). It covers the story behind the feud between Sanchez and Koscheck. The feud was more entertaining than the actual fight. The fighter interviews gives us a glimpse on how fighters think and what kind of strategy they want to employ come fight day. An excellent extra that does not disappoint.
Conclusion:
Even though there were some boring matches, most of the matches delivered. We see Huerta in a battle against Garcia and the main event did not disappoint. Recommended.
